ENGINEERING.com Announces Powerful Engineering Process Control with Collaboration Suite 2008

Users express strong support for new process control features

November 22, 2007, Toronto, ON – ENGINEERING.com Inc. [TSXV:EGN] today released V.2008 of Collaboration Suite, the premier hosted engineering collaboration solution for manufacturers. New in this version, ENGINEERING.com has introduced features to support engineering process control.

"We’ve translated all of our company-wide processes into Collaboration Suite. Some of these processes include RFQ (Request for Quotations), SRA (Sample Requests), ECN (Engineering Change) and the whole APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process," said Jeff Read, Program Manager at Oiles America Corporation. “By doing this, we’ve made Collaboration Suite a single repository for all the projects. Now team members and senior management alike have visibility and easy access to all the company projects and deadlines"

Collaboration Suite is an economical online engineering process control system. Process control features such as re-useable, flexible templates allow companies to rapidly document their processes, deploy new processes across their facilities, and to audit adherence to those processes with ease. Complete with online project/process management, document management, web-conferencing and supplier management, ENGINEERING.com Collaboration Suite helps companies manage their new product introductions and other engineering processes across distributed design and manufacturing teams.

"We’ve beefed up this version with more support for tracking all types of data associated with projects and jobs", said John Hayes, President of ENGINEERING.com. “Our customers said they wanted to create new data capture fields customized to their requirements, and to be able to report on the data in those fields. By adding this capability, we’ve created a solution that our customers can rely on as part of their mission critical systems infrastructure."

The hosting environment at ENGINEERING.com enables users to access their projects and jobs from any computer that is connected to the Internet. The pricing of Collaboration Suite is much lower than for deployed solutions, and the speed of deployment is much faster. Customers are able to access the system the day they place an order, and most customers can learn to create their own process templates within a few hours.

Collaboration Suite is ideally suited to manufacturers who are managing projects and action items using Microsoft Excel or MSProject as stand alone solutions.
